Join the MexiCali Biennial and Brewjeria Company as we release a collaborative beer project!
The limited edition craft brew, named Aquí y Allá, is a Farmhouse Ale which we are calling Cerveza del Campo, and is made with locally scavenged backyard Oro Blanco grapefruit. For every can sold (draft not included), Brewjeria will donate a portion of proceeds to the MexiCali Biennial, a 501c3 arts and culture non-profit. These funds will go directly towards upcoming border programs and art exhibitions this fall as well as future biennial exhibitions. The cans themselves, designed by artist Ed Gomez, serve as a collectors item and include the MexiCali Biennial border trucks and background information on the organization.
In conjunction with the beer launch, a live painting demonstration will be held by Mexicali-based artist Fernando Corona. Corona has been featured in publications such as Artillery, Artbound, Artforum and Frieze and has produced indoor murals in spaces such as Artist Space, New York; Contemporary Berlin Art, Berlin; Kunstverein Munchen, Munich; Corcoran Museum, Washington, D.C, and The Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento.
