Annabel Turrado will carry out a durational performance by shaving a large block of ice using a raspador, a tool commonly used to make Mexican style snow cones called raspados. This is the artist’s literal translation of abolishing ICE (acronym for Immigration and Customs Enforcement), the immigrant detention system that has affected many Latinx communities.
Electronic Disturbance Theater 3.0 (EDT 3.0)
2:00 – 3:00 P.M. PST
EDT 3.0 will enact a performance that can be viewed from either side of the border fence. Serving as a final act in a 3-part play, the group will utilize drones and audio components to create an opera to address cautionary technological advancements within the agricultural field.
